1924 (Taisho 13) Takaoka Higher Commercial School founded
1949 (Showa 24) University of Toyama founded; Department of Economics established within the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences
1953 (Showa 28) Department of Economics established within the School of Economic,
1974 (Showa 49) Department of Business Administration established within the School of Economic.
1979 (Showa 54) Department of Business Law established within the School of Economic.
1986 (Showa 61) Day and Evening programs introduced in the School of Economics
1991 (Heisei 3) Graduate School of Economics (Master's Program) established
1993 (Heisei 5) Division between general education and specialized education abolished; four-year integrated education system implemented
2004 (Heisei 16) Course system introduced (Day Program)
2018 (Heisei 30) Advanced Programs launched (International Business, Finance & Accounting, Public Administration Management) ・Double Degree Program initiated with Kainan University (Taiwan) ・Quarter system (four-term academic year) introduced
2022 (Reiwa 4) Graduate School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Arts (Master's Program) established ・Integration and reorganization of the Graduate Schools of Humanities, Human Development, Economics, and Art & Culture
2024 (Reiwa 6) Department of Economic and Business Administration established within the School of Economics. ・Integration of the Departments of Economics, Business Administration, and Business Law. ・Discontinuation of student admissions for the Evening program.
