Double Degree Program

What is a Double Degree Program?

A Double Degree Program is an academic arrangement between multiple partner universities in which students complete educational programs at the same degree level offered by each institution. Upon fulfilling the graduation requirements of each university, the student is awarded a degree from both institutions.
In October 2015, during the 10th Anniversary Ceremony of the University of Toyama's integration, Vice President Ji-Huang Lin of Kainan University, who was invited by the School of Economics, proposed the implementation of a double degree program at the undergraduate level.
In response, the School of Economics began discussions to launch the program, believing that studying abroad at a partner university would not only enhance students' specialized knowledge, but also help them develop into global talents with an international perspective--individuals capable of effectively communicating with advanced language skills and working collaboratively across cultures.
As a result of these efforts, the program was launched for students enrolled from the 2017 academic year.
